Utah Photographer | Back Up Your Photos

It is so important to take the time to back up your photos to preserve memories. Believe it or not, we forget how important things are to us until we lose them. If there is a loss of life, your pictures of them become absolutely priceless.

So how do you back up your photos? First of all, have your photos in at least two physical locations and one online.

A great online and offsite backup system that I use is called Backblaze. They are affordable and can give you great peace of mind. Your computer is a great place to keep your albums, but it shouldn’t be the only place! If your computer dies, a power surge kills it, or an error causes a memory wipe, you don’t want to deal with the panic of trying to restore irreplaceable memories.

You can also keep your memories safe by uploading them to an external hard drive, USB, or cloud storage.

My favorite way to save photos physically is by using Chatbooks. I use them to print all my iPhone photos into cute books. My kids love looking through them and remembering precious memories. Once a year, I make a yearbook of all our trips and important family moments. And as a bonus, they are so fun to make!

Whether you choose to print your photos, make them into books, or something else, be sure to keep them in a safe place so they don’t get lost!

I can’t imagine how devastated this family would be to lose photos of their sweet newborn babe. These moments can’t be duplicated, so please back up your photos!
